About Kenda
Kenda Taylor has been painting for as long as she can remember. What started as a quiet personal practice — sketchbooks filled on walks, watercolours begun and abandoned and returned to — has grown into a rich body of work that takes in landscapes, still life, the natural world, and the small moments of everyday life that are so easy to overlook.
Watercolour is her medium of choice. She loves the way it resists complete control — the blooms, the bleeds, the happy accidents that no other medium quite replicates. Her work has a quiet, observational quality: boats resting on still water, snowdrops in late winter light, the washing on a line against a big Shropshire sky, flowers in a jar on a windowsill.
Kenda takes commissions in watercolour on any subject. She has painted homes, loved ones, gardens, animals, and places with personal meaning for clients across the country. Each commission is approached with genuine care — she gets to know the subject before she picks up a brush.
The Blessing Art Studio is her new home in central Ellesmere — part working studio, part gallery, part shop. You’ll find her work on the walls, a curated range of art materials to browse, and the back room available to hire for your own creative workshops and sessions.
Ellesmere has been home for many years, and its meres, hedgerows, and market town character find their way into her paintings more often than she plans.
